Hinduja College Students Pedal for Investor Awareness

Financial literacy doesn’t always have to happen in a seminar hall. On Saturday, 10th October 2026, over 200 of our students, faculty members and invited guests swapped classrooms for bicycles, pedalling 5 kilometres through the streets of Worli to spread a message that mattered: invest with knowledge, verify before you trust, and stay alert to fraud.

A Rally With Real Purpose

Organised by Hinduja College in association with Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) and Krisha Foundation, and held under the aegis of SEBI, the Cycle Rally was our contribution to World Investor Week 2026. It fell perfectly in line with this year’s theme, “Samajh Se Investing Simple,” with a particular focus on investor resilience and the growing risks of digital deception.

Why We Took It to the Streets

The rally wasn’t designed to stay confined to campus. Starting from Sadhana House on Pandurang Budhkar Marg, riders wound their way through Worli before looping back to college, turning financial literacy into something visible and public rather than a conversation limited to a classroom. The idea was simple: if investor awareness matters to everyone, it deserves to reach everyone, not just the students already enrolled in a finance course.

A Message Worth Repeating

Throughout the ride, participants carried one consistent message: invest with knowledge, verify before you trust, and stay alert to fraud. In a time when digital scams and fraudulent investment schemes are becoming harder to spot, that message landed with real relevance, a timely reminder that financial discipline starts with staying informed and staying cautious.

What Cycling Has to Do With Investing

Addressing participants, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Navin M. Punjabi drew a thoughtful parallel between the ride itself and the discipline investing requires. Cycling, he noted, demands balance, consistency and perseverance, the very same qualities that separate successful, long-term investors from impulsive ones. He encouraged students to carry that mindset forward, becoming ambassadors for financial literacy well beyond their own circles.

More Than Just a Ride

The rally’s impact went beyond the 5 kilometres covered. It got students actively engaged in a cause larger than their own coursework, reinforced the importance of disciplined, long-term investing, and raised real public awareness around digital fraud and scam prevention. It also strengthened our institutional ties with CDSL and Krisha Foundation, partners who share the college’s commitment to building a financially literate community.

Education That Moves Beyond the Classroom

Events like this capture something Hinduja College values deeply: learning that doesn’t stop at the classroom door. By turning investor education into a shared, physical, public experience, the Cycle Rally reflected the spirit of World Investor Week 2026 and reinforced a message that’s worth repeating often, invest smart, stay alert, and never stop learning.
