Alumni Homecoming - Reconnecting With Our Hinduja Family
Some evenings are hard to plan for on paper, because what makes them special is the feeling in the room. That was true on 26th September 2026, when we welcomed 155 of our alumni back to the Worli campus for Alumni Homecoming 2026. For two hours, between 5 and 7 pm, familiar faces, old friendships and years of shared memory filled our corridors again, alongside the teachers, non-teaching staff and student volunteers who helped bring the evening together.
A Warm Welcome Back to Campus
Our alumni began arriving from 5 pm, greeted by students and teachers with a simple gesture that set the tone for the evening: a rose for each returning graduate. It was a small touch, but it said what we wanted the whole evening to say, that this campus is still theirs too. For many alumni, walking back through the gates after years away was itself an emotional moment, the first step in an evening built entirely around reconnection.
Exploring the New Campus, One Memory at a Time
From there, alumni were taken on a guided tour of our Worli campus, many of them stepping into the new space for the first time. Classrooms, computer labs, the library, the canteen and the Gymkhana were all part of the walkthrough, and the reactions were exactly what we had hoped for. Alumni moved through the spaces with visible delight, swapping stories about classroom moments, old friendships and the small details of college life that stay with you long after graduation. For many, revisiting the campus in its new setting felt like reconnecting with Hinduja College all over again, a chance to see how far their alma mater has come while still recognising the spirit that made it home.
A Welcome From the Heart of the Institution
The formal programme opened in Room No. 22, where our Principal, Vice-Principal and the President of the Alumni Association addressed the gathering. Their message was consistent: the bond between Hinduja College and its alumni doesn't end at graduation, and we want every batch to feel genuinely welcome whenever they choose to return. Each address reinforced that an institution is shaped as much by those who have left its gates as by those who walk through them today.
Looking Ahead: Strengthening Our Alumni Network
The evening wasn't only about looking back. Our Principal also used the occasion to announce new initiatives built to keep alumni connected long after Homecoming ends. These include regular alumni newsletters covering institutional updates, achievements and upcoming opportunities; weekend certificate programmes designed exclusively for alumni, offering upskilling in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence; and a calendar of ongoing engagement activities meant to foster networking between alumni, current students and the college. Together, these initiatives reflect a long-term institutional commitment to building a vibrant, active alumni community, one that stays genuinely connected rather than reconnecting only once in a while. A dedicated Garba Night for alumni, tentatively planned for 4th November 2026, was also announced, adding fresh excitement to an already memorable evening and giving alumni another reason to mark their calendars.
Games, Music and a Night to Remember
What followed was pure nostalgia. Fun games and interactive activities got alumni from different batches mixing and laughing together, breaking the ice between graduates who may never have crossed paths on campus. The Jamming Session became one of the evening's true highlights, as old college favourites and popular songs from various eras brought everyone together in song, transforming Room No. 22 into something closer to a reunion of old friends than a formal event. Refreshments afterward gave alumni more time to catch up informally, and a complimentary photography session let each attendee take home a keepsake of the evening with their friends, a small memento of a night they clearly didn't want to end.
A Reunion That Reflected a Lasting Bond
By the end of the evening, it was clear that Homecoming 2026 was more than a get-together. With 155 alumni back on campus, the event captured something we value deeply at Hinduja College: the enduring relationship between our institution and the people who once called it home. From the welcome at the gates to the final photographs, every part of the evening reaffirmed that our alumni remain part of the Hinduja family long after they walk out of our classrooms.
We're already looking forward to the next reunion. Stay connected with the Hinduja College Alumni Association to hear about upcoming events, including Garba Night 2026.
