Faculty through Values and Inner Strength in Education”
26th April, 2025
On 26th April 2025, the IQAC concluded the academic year with a powerful Faculty Development
Programme (FDP) titled “Timeless Lessons from the Bhagavad Gita: Empowering Faculty through
Values and Inner Strength in Education.” This unique session was inspired by the National Education
Policy (NEP) 2020’s emphasis on integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and aligned with NAAC’s
call for value-based and holistic education. The programme aimed at deepening the philosophical and
ethical grounding of faculty members, fostering resilience, clarity, and ethical strength in their
professional and personal lives.
The session was led by the esteemed Shri Aditya Shastri ji, fondly known as ‘The Modern Monk.’
Through an insightful and spiritually enriching discourse, Shri Shastri ji translated the teachings of the
Bhagavad Gita into actionable guidance for educators. He emphasized the importance of self-
awareness, emotional resilience, and dharma in the face of academic and institutional challenges.
Faculty members were encouraged to embrace teaching as a sacred vocation that requires continual
self-reflection and growth. The session created a space for introspection and renewal, reminding
participants of the importance of inner strength and purpose-driven pedagogy. It was a valuable and
transformative experience that reinforced the deeper values essential for impactful teaching and
lifelong learning.
