Domestic violence, sexual assault, marital rape are common forms of violence in India towards
women. Women are told to dress properly in order to avoid such instances. But you can't control a
man’s lust and greed. A man should be taught to maintain his composure. Lust and is taught to see
women as their sister and mother. Clothes won’t reduce rape. This example can be proven by the
Brussels exhibition in Belgium "no clothes prevent rape". The problem is the monstrosity of the men. The
recent "Re Ko" a medical college case caused uproar in India. It is an assault and murder case similar to
2011 Nirbhaya case. But this voice has also become silent and will be dragged and watered down like
other cases. There are thousands and lakhs of Nirbhayas like there who haven’t got justice. So many
incidents have happened but the society doesn’t flinch. Instead of teaching women "Not get raped"
teach men "Not to rape". The fact that the victims are more ashamed of themselves rather than the rapist
says a lot about our society. In a holy place like India where women are worshipped and witnessing
horrors like this. For how many more centuries women have to go through this torture? For how many
years we have to wait for our freedom? For how many more years we have to seek permission for simple
things? We don’t know.

White milky clouds floating in the sky The shine they hold, the smiles unfold
Where do they rest or home Even the sun drowning down
Just they know all the whys.. Jewels the clouds, saying truth untold..

They got a lamp of sun around Clouds being blank palette
Travelling east to west down Coloured by the topaz Sun

So they can see way they found.. Down on earth the beauty reflects
As only an end being fun...
Long long miles they flow

Long long times they run Sharvani Mangesh Kadam
