Hinduja College Students at NSE for World Investor Week

Not every classroom lesson happens on campus. On 6th October 2026, a group of our students traded lecture halls for the NSE Auditorium in BKC, Mumbai, as part of World Investor Week 2026, ANMI’s “Investistiya 4.0,” held under the theme “Samajh Se Investing Simple.”

A Global Campaign, Brought Home

World Investor Week is IOSCO’s global push for investor education and protection, observed from 5th to 11th October. In India, that mission came alive through Investistiya 4.0, organised by ANMI under the aegis of IOSCO and SEBI, with the National Stock Exchange as venue partner. Our students joined alongside Kohinoor Management School, stepping into a room filled with regulators, exchange representatives and industry leaders.

A Stage Full of Serious Voices

The event brought together an impressive lineup, including Mr. Kamlesh Shroff, National President of ANMI, Ms. Deepti Agrawal, CGM at SEBI, and Mr. Amit Pradhan, Executive Director at SEBI, alongside speakers from NSE and Groww. For students, it wasn’t just a lecture about investing, it was a direct look at the people who shape and regulate India’s capital markets.

Our Principal’s Message to Students

Principal Dr. Navin M. Punjabi addressed the gathering with a message aimed squarely at young investors: get financially educated so you’re empowered to protect yourself and make informed decisions. He reminded students that SEBI has built safeguards to protect investors, but those safeguards only work if people stay alert and genuinely understand them. His ability to connect financial literacy and safety directly to the concerns of Gen Z resonated strongly with the room.

Learning the Landscape of Investing

Through the day’s sessions, students got a practical overview of investment avenues they’d likely only encountered in theory before, Mutual Funds, Stocks, REITs, InvITs, Bonds and Commodities. Speakers from Kohinoor Management School and JM Financial Services Ltd. added further depth, helping students connect textbook concepts to how these instruments actually function in the market.

Spotting the Scams Before They Spot You

One of the most relevant sessions of the day came from SEBI directly: a special talk on navigating social media investment scams. With misleading tips and fraudulent schemes increasingly common online, the session gave students practical tools to recognise red flags and protect themselves, knowledge that matters as much for Gen Z investors as any formal lesson on asset classes.

Our Students Took the Stage Too

The highlight for many was watching our own first-year students perform a skit built entirely around the day’s theme, dramatising the risks of investing without due diligence and the tactics behind common scams, while spotlighting SEBI’s efforts to prevent them. Performed in front of dignitaries and the full NSE Auditorium audience, it was a proud moment for the college and a genuine showcase of how seriously our students engage with financial literacy.

What Our Students Walked Away With

Beyond the sessions and the applause, students left with a clearer understanding of how investor protection actually works, exposure to real regulators and market professionals, and the confidence that comes from performing on a national-level platform. It’s the kind of experience that turns financial literacy from a classroom topic into something tangible and personal.

We’re proud to have been part of this year’s World Investor Week, and grateful to ANMI, SEBI, IOSCO and NSE for the opportunity. Visit Hinduja College to see what’s next.
