Urban Field Project: Applying Management Skills for Social Impact

As part of their experiential learning curriculum, students from the Department engaged in an urban
field project focused on community service and social responsibility. They collaborated with various
NGOs across the city, conducting workshops and seminars for underprivileged groups, including the
elderly, orphans, and patients. Through these interactions, students applied their management
knowledge in real-world settings, organizing events, coordinating logistics, and delivering impactful
        sessions. (January 22, 2025)

        Outstation and Institutional Field Visits

To enhance experiential learning and provide students with real-world exposure beyond the classroom,
the Department of Professional Programmes organized a series of field visits. These educational
excursions were designed to align with academic objectives, industry insights, and the holistic learning
approach of the National Education Policy (NEP):

        • Cultural Immersion in Rishikesh

Students visited Rishikesh to explore India’s cultural and spiritual heritage as part of their Indian
Knowledge System (IKS) studies under NEP. They attended the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan
Ashram, witnessing the spiritual significance of the sacred ritual. Additionally, yoga and wellness
sessions provided them with hands-on learning about holistic health and mindfulness,
reinforcing traditional Indian wellness practices. (February 6, 2025)

        • Jungle safari at Jim Corbett Forest

The Jim Corbett Forest Safari offered students an immersive wildlife conservation experience.
They explored the biodiversity of India’s oldest national park, studying the ecological balance,
conservation efforts, and the role of protected areas in sustaining endangered species. Guided by
experts, students gained knowledge about sustainable tourism, eco-tourism practices, and the
impact of human activities on natural ecosystems. (February 9, 2025)

“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to
                                                        be ignited.” – Plutarch 83
