Orientation Programme
The new academic session began with an engaging Orientation Programme for the First-year students.
The event offered students a comprehensive introduction to the course structure, departmental
activities, and the various opportunities available in the field of media and communication. During the
session, faculty members encouraged students to embrace creativity, critical thinking, and innovative
approaches right from day one. The formal ceremony was followed by an interactive session featuring
games and activities for the freshers. (July 4, 2024)
Guest Lectures
• The Art of Storytelling in Presentations
Mr. Omum Siddiqui, a freelance soft skills trainer conducted an interactive session on this topic
highlighting the role of effective narratives in enhancing audience engagement and impactful
communication – an essential skill for aspiring media professionals. (July 30, 2024)
• Online Session on Market Research Methods
Students participated in an insightful online guest session focusing on Market Research Methods.
The session delved into the practical aspects of market research, equipping students with the
knowledge and tools necessary to analyze trends, consumer behaviour, and the effectiveness of
various media strategies. This guest session further emphasized the importance of research in
shaping successful media campaigns and strategies. (August 12, 2024)
• Online Session on Becoming AI Ready for 2025
Keeping up with technological advancements, an online session on “Becoming AI Ready for
2025” was organized. Mr. Omkar Pandharkame, from ATLAS SkillTech University conducted the
session wherein students were introduced to AI tools, machine learning applications, and their
implications for the media industry. (December 7, 2024)
• Guest Lecture by University of Bath Faculty
A Special Guest Lecture was conducted by Dr. Michal Stimmelmayer and Ms. Louise Brown from
the University of Bath (UK). The session offered international perspectives on journalism, media
ethics, and global communication practices. (January 21, 2025)
Ice-Breaking Session for First-year Students
An Ice-breaking Session was conducted for first-year students for a fun and interactive start to the
semester. Games, creative introductions, and group challenges helped students develop friendships
and teamwork in a relaxed environment. (August 30, 2024)
