“Different flowers from the same garden” — this saying perfectly reflects our Cultural Committee’s
journey. Students from different backgrounds came together to share their talents, celebrate traditions,
and create unforgettable memories. Though we are all different, we grew together through culture,
creativity, and unity.
The Cultural Committee commenced its activities for the academic year on 12th August with a cheerful
celebration of Friendship Day. A series of creative competitions were organized exclusively for S.Y.J.C.
students. The Friendship Day events included both individual competitions such as photo frame making
and tattoo making, and group competitions like photo frame making and umbrella painting. Students
and teachers dressed in shades of blue and pink, adding to the festive spirit. The response was truly
heartwarming, with enthusiastic participation from both students and teachers.
On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, the Cultural Committee observed a ‘Tricolor Day’ on
14th August to celebrate the event, inculcate the virtue of peace, and honour the sacrifice of our brave
freedom fighters. The students and teachers were dressed in tricolour attire.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, celebrated on 5th September 2024, the Cultural Committee invited
S.Y.J.C. and F.Y.J.C. students to write a text message/ poem/ letter/ card for their teacher/teachers and
to drop it in a ‘Message Drop Box’ placed in the staffroom. The students had posted many handmade
letters and cards with beautiful messages. The messages were then shared with the concerned teachers
along with a handmade card by the volunteers. The volunteers had organized a few games for the
teachers like antakshari, dumb charade etc.
The “CULTURAL FEST-24” for the academic year 2024-25 was organized by the Cultural Committee
from 23rd to 25th October 2024. This three-day event featured various competitions in both individual
and group categories. On Day 1 (23rd October), events like Mehendi, Rangoli, Nail Art, and
PowerPoint were held individually, while Lantern Making was conducted as a group event. Day 2 (24th
October) featured a Fireless Cooking competition under both individual and group categories. On Day
3 (25th October), a Personality Contest was held, with students dressed in Traditional/Indian wear. After
several rounds, winners were announced for the year 2024-25. There was enthusiastic participation
throughout the fest.
