Field Project and Community Engagement Programme

EVS Department Leads Students in Environmental Action & Social Research
Under the guidance of the EVS Department, S.Y.B. Com students led four major
initiatives: Field Project, A Beach Cleanup Drive, E-Waste Collection Campaign,
Plastic Waste Collection Drive, and a Women's Entrepreneurship Survey. These
projects, focused on sustainability and social empowerment were carried out with
enthusiasm and made a lasting impact on the community.
Field Project Report: Data Collection and Research
All 750 Students conducted fieldwork on ass100igned topics, collected and
analyzed data, and developed research proposals. The project aimed to
enhance practical research skills and connect classroom learning with real-world
applications.
E-Waste Collection Drive
Students collected e-waste from their living premises, gathering over 451 kg. The
collected material was transferred to Threco Recycling Company for safe
disposal and responsible recycling, helping reduce environmental impact.
Plastic Waste Collection Drive
A week-long campaign was organized to highlight the importance of reducing
plastic pollution. Students successfully gathered over 700 kg of plastic from the
campus, which was then responsibly recycled through Threco, a certified
recycling company. The drive served as a powerful reminder that individual
actions can lead to collective change, motivating the campus community to
embrace more sustainable practices.
Beach Cleanup Drive at Girgaon Chowpatty
A Beach Cleanup Drive was organized at Girgaon Chowpatty, where 750
students enthusiastically participated. In Ten hours, they collected over 1,000 kg
of waste using eco-friendly tools. Held in collaboration with Change in Us, the
drive promoted marine conservation and raised awareness about the harmful
effects of littering.
Women Entrepreneurship Survey and Report Writing
The EVS Department led a Women’s Entrepreneurship Survey, where 750
students interviewed 10 women entrepreneurs to gather insights on their
challenges and innovations. The findings were compiled into a report to support
and encourage women-led businesses. These initiatives helped students develop
practical skills while contributing to social empowerment.
The activities are carried out by the teacher coordinators, Manoj Patil, Vijay
Botalji, Manjula Vyas, and Nabila Chougle under the able guidance of I/C
Principal Dr. Chandrakala Joshi.
