Orientation
The activities of the B.Com. (Financial Markets) Department commenced with an Orientation Programme for the
First Year students. Principal Dr. Minu Madlani delivered a Welcome Address. She briefed the students about the
importance of the course, motivated them to become University rank holders and to participate in co-curricular
activities to enhance their overall development. Prof. Saira Banoo Shaikh, the Course Co-ordinator then
familiarized the students with the curriculum, attendance requirements, the CBCGSS system etc. (July 14, 2017 ).
Guest Lectures
A Guest Lecture by Mr. Pratik Jain titled ‘Tryst with Economics’ was arranged for FYBFM students. (July 08,
2017)
Ms. Krutika Jain Mehta, Asst.Vice President, Lotus Knowlwealth Pvt. Ltd guided students of the SYBFM and
TYBFM classes on ‘How to Invest to Create Wealth.’ (July 21, 2017)
Mr. Yash Tamrecha addressed students of the FYBFM on ‘Finance and Economy - Correlation Myth and Reality’.

Mr. Deepak Jain delivered a Guest Lecture on ‘Commodities Market’ for SYBFM students. (September 25, 2017)
Mr. Amir Munshi addressed students of the TYBFM class on ‘Organizational Behaviour’. (September 25, 2017)
Prof. Prasanna Choudhary guided the Final Year students on ‘Technical Analysis’. (November 03, 2017)
Prof. Vaibhav Asher delivered a lecture on ‘Corporate Accounting’ for TYBFM students. (November 03, 2017)
Prof. Bhavna from Pillai College, delivered a Guest Lecture on ‘Financial Derivatives’ for TYBFM
students.(November 03, 2017).
Workshops
A Workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ was organized for TYBFM students. Prof. Rahul Mhadbe, former Vice
Principal of Thakur College gave an insight to students about how to prepare and upload questionnaires through
the Internet; the need for authenticity in research, plagiarism testing etc. (March 23, 2018)
Advocate Sanjay Bhatia conducted a Workshop to
enlighten students about Personality Development and
how to succeed at Selection Interviews and crack
Competitive Examinations. (March 30, 2018).
Field Trip
The Department organized a Field Trip to the Bombay
Stock Exchange (BSE) in order to give students a
comprehensive and practical insight about the financial
market and its operation. (March 16, 2018).
